WHY HAS NOBODY IN THE POTTSTOWN BOROUGH FIXED THIS PROBLEM! WHAT AN EASY SOLUTION - LONGER TIME TO GO STRAIGHT WHEN CROSSING OVER ROUTE 100 TO/FROM THE GIANT SHOPPING CENTER. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE PEOPLE GET SICK OF WAITING AND JUST GO ON THE RED!!!
The traffic light if far too short when going straight across Route 100 to/from Upland Square Dr. and State Rd. There are multiple turning lanes which facilitate traffic going either direction on Rt. 100. However, there is only one staight lane and the traffic light is so short that only a few cars can make it through the large intersection. This poses a danger as folks get frustrated with multiple light changes and then go across on the red. With only one straight lane, a few more seconds of green light time are desperately needed at this intersection to free up the backlog of traffic that occurs. I've waited up to 3 light changes when leaving Target/Giant to get across the street! That's ridiculous!

The intersection has one of the best designed timing cycles I have seen. The lights on all ends are shorter and have quicker cycles causing traffic to flow faster. While you might have to wait a cycle, it tends to be quicker then, for example, down the road at Shoemaker Road and 100 (Wallmart.)
I really wish more intersections in the area that use traffic lights would follow this timing example.

To the person who initiated this complaint 4 YEARS ago.
The intersection is split between UPPER POTTSGROVE and WEST POTTSGROVE . Pottstown Boro has ZERO jurisdiction .

Actually, the municipalities are responsible for the maintenance of the traffic signals tht fall within their limits.
If there is a timing issue, changes get made at their request of the muni , by a third party contractor after the proper traffic study is done and is within conformance of DOT standards.
