This is a big intersection with limited visibility for southbound cars due to the hill up from Girard.
With cars frequently turning left from Poplar Dr onto Poplar St, it's dangerous for bikes travelling north on Poplar Dr.

This should be a 3-way stop.

In fact, the whole of Poplar Dr. could use some serious traffic calming measures.
It's a very wide street, which causes drivers to accelerate quickly and speed.
But, there are always obstacles in the bike lanes with the number of parked cars for Park and Trail users.
Further, with the ballpark on one side and residential on the other, it's quite dangerous having cars speeding as fast as they do.

I have seen signs that are bolted to the pavement and say something like state law stop for pedestrians.
I think that and anything that will bring attention to the fact that this is a crosswalk and drivers need to be aware of pedestrians. Any other ideas?

okay, so there is a cross walk sigh and lines on the road, but people still will not stop while you try to cross in the crosswalk even with small children. I think if they put one of those signs they say its the law and is bolted to road might help. I wonder if people even know it the law? and not just the right thing to do.

This is still an issue because people are unaware that it is a law to stop for pedestrians in crosswalk. A sign is needed that is bolted on crosswalk or stop signs, or even better flashing light.
