Description
The left signal turning from Columbus onto Marin coming from Grove Street was apparently intentionally turned off to allow more time for people to drive across Columbus. This makes it basically impossible to turn left onto Marin, as you have to cross two lanes of traffic, wait for Marin to clear, and wait for any pedestrians in the cross-walk. It often takes one car two full cycles to turn left through the intersection. It should be turned back on and the whole cycle should be lengthened to solve both problems.

Issues
1) Dangerous intersection for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. No matter which direction or what mode of transportation, the congestion is terrible.
2) Congestion due to lack of a police officer directing traffic, during evening rush hour.
3) Blocking the box.
4) Traffic congestion at all times.
5) Emergency vehicles get stuck in the traffic congestion.
6) Honking and revving noise.
7) Speeding.
8) CC Dr East Bound Lanes – Removal of left turn signal has made it difficult for drivers to turn left onto Marin.
9) CC Dr West Bound Lanes – Extremely difficult to make a right onto Marin Blvd due to pedestrians crossing.
10) CC Dr East Bound Lanes – Going straight is extremely difficult.
11) Adding a bicycle lane will make it even more chaotic.
12) Reducing lanes north of Columbus seems like it will cause further backups.
13) Difficult for pedestrians and cyclists to travel through the intersection.
14) Issues at this intersection fuels cut-through traffic on Warren’ where pedestrian safety and motorist compliance at intersections are lacking.
15) Vehicles double park near the intersection.
16) Morning rush hour is terrible.
17) Vehicles blocking crosswalks.
18) Vehicles in the left turn lane often realize too late that it is a turn only lane and try to go straight, causing or almost causing accidents. (Which road and direction?)

Requests:
1) CC Dr East Bound Lanes – Return left turn signal and lengthen the whole cycle.
2) Delayed green lights so turning vehicles get a head start.
3) Placing a traffic officer at the intersection, especially 4 pm to 6pm, Tuesday through Friday.
4) Placing a traffic officer at the intersection, especially during morning rush hour, Tuesday through Friday.
5) Block the box striping and signage.
6) Longer green light for cars to turn from Christopher to Marin Blvd.
7) CC Dr from west bound lanes - Dedicated right turn signal or dedicated pedestrian crossing signal.
8) CC Dr East Bound Lanes – No left turn.
9) Do not add a bicycle lane, there are bike lanes on Washington and Greene Street traveling north/south.
10) Do not reduce the lanes north of Columbus Dr.
11) Create a bicycle lane.
12) Consider how changes might impact the entire neighborhood.
13) Redesign the entire system of signals.
14) Enforcement/Fines (Public Safety).
15) Cars should not be allowed to turn when pedestrians are crossing.
16) Request for signage and additional striping further out from the intersection stating the left lane must turn left.

There was a lot here with gathering information from the 12 duplicate requests.

2) "Don't block the box" at Steuben/Marin intersection.
3) Multiple ADA designated parking spaces on side streets off Marin Blvd on First, Bay, Morgan, or Steuben.
4) Dedicated right turn lane from Second St on to Marin Blvd - return the right turn lane (add no right on red)
5) Will actual bump out sidewalks be created at the corners for better safety and eliminate illegal temporary parking close to the intersections at Steuben, Morgan, and Bay Streets.
6) Post rules for bicycle/scooter use and direction traveling. Enforce Bike violations.
7) Identical, clearly striped, designated pick up/drop off loading zones near Marin on side streets (Steuben, Morgan. Bay, First and Second Streets)
