Garbage is being thrown everywhere regularly. We pick it up the best we can but this area is in dire need of garbage cans. Here are the locations that we need for four permanent garbage cans:
On the east side of Webster, one between 37th and MacArthur, and one between 36th and 37th.
On the South side of MacArthur, one between Webster and Shafter, and one between Shafter and Manila.

I’m the volunteer coordinator for Mosswood Community Garden (corner of Webster and MacArthur). For the last few years, we have been spending a lot of our “gardening” time picking up trash along Webster and MacArthur. The park and area around it get way more use than the few temporary trash cans inside the park can handle. We could really use permanent, regularly emptied trash cans along both Webster and MacArthur. I think it would make a dramatic difference in the amount of time that we volunteers and Oakland’s Park Service employees spend maintaining the area.
Thanks!

As a gardener at the Mosswood Community Garden, we spend the majority of our time picking up garbage on the streets.
We desperately need trash cans.
We also get folks that indiscriminately throw their trash over the fence and into the garden.
Please provide regular trash cans.
Thank you,

Too much trash. Not enough bins.
It’s a park. Where one of the busiest blocks in Oakland and a busy bicycle street merge. Common sense guys.
Let’s get a can please

This street is just a few blocks from several businesses that generate a lot of trash from customers, including several of the fast food restaurants. There is so much litter from these businesses along the sidewalks. Not only is it unsightly for everyone and unsafe for children, it also blocks the sewer drains and will cause flooding if we experience heavy rains.
Additionally, the park is frequented by basketball players and spectators, and there are no convenient garbage cans for them to deposit there trash. The lack of garbage cans is resulting in a public community space that is dirty and unsafe for its users.
Please add more garbage cans!
