The problem seems to be that the boiler doesn't stay on by itself, but has to be switched back on by the super on a daily basis. The super does a good job, but when he is on vacation (which, I assume from the smell of garbage coming up the elevator shaft, he is), there's no one covering his duties, so there's no one to keep the boiler on. Result: ice cold water for hours or even days. Management should either fix the boiler so it doesn't shut down constantly, or make sure there's someone covering for the super when he is away.

Assemblyman Denny Farrell's office has contacted the President of the Tenan't Association and is working on fixing this problem.

When you spoke to Pinnacle, did they address the fact that whenever the super is not physically on site to keep the boiler running manually, it shuts down and we have no hot water til he returns?
