Deskripsyon
Location: South side of Woodvale, off of Hale St. Sidewalk and roadway are sinking, causing sections of the sidewalk to be raised while adjacent sections have sunk. Area looks like a sink hole is developing. I first reported this matter in June. No action was taken and the area has deteriorated significantly.

Hey, VRHA. What usually happens with any sidewalk damage is that Sean S. will respond with a copy/paste of some municipal codes that I will also link for you here.
Usually, the copy/paste will state that it is the responsibility of the property owner to repair the sidewalk, but the municipal codes actually say that the city is responsible for notifying the owner, waiting 2 weeks for a repair, and thereafter repairing it themselves and putting a lien on the property owner until the debt is paid.
Here are the municipal codes for your own reference:
https://www.municode.com/library/ca/vallejo/codes/code_of_ordinances?nodeId=TIT10STSI_CH10.04RECOMASIDRST
I have reopened several other issues that were dismissed on the basis of "property owner's problem, not ours", and asked about why this section of the municipal codes was being ignored, but I never get a response and the problem continues to be ignored. Maybe you should start asking the same questions. If enough people ask maybe a proper excuse will eventually be formed, or possibly even a solution.
BTW, do you know if this is city-owned sidewalk or private owned?

Looks like a legitimate issue. I'd like to see it fixed as well, especially since the process is city responsibility and no lien is required. I've voted for it to be fixed.
However, historically, the city fixing sidewalk issues seems to be very seldom. You will have to push to get this problem resolved. If you don't, it will probably get swept under the rug again.
Do you have a link to the prior time that you reported this issue and it wasn't addressed? Those timestamps are important for the record.

Thank you for reporting this. We have reviewed the problem and the repair will be fairly expensive due to the potential replacement of storm drain inlet and piping. Unfortunately the City does not have current funding set aside for this type and size of problem.
We have placed this location on our list of needs and will keep it in mind for the first opportunity where a funded Public Works project is planned for this area and can accommodate it.
If you have further questions please feel free to call the Engineering office at (707) 468-4316.
