I know that side of Cresson St is isolated but many people walk across the tressle and passi by in the train, it is a sad looking area. Doesn't the streets department know that people actually drive to their homes on that unpaved and dangerous road. Does Manayunk have a group that works with the neighbors to make the area more desireable?
Painting the railing in front of that small group of houses is a start. Placing evergreens along the railing would be appealing and makes it much safer for the residents. A new road and brush cleanup would make a world of difference for tthe commuters, residents and the bridge walkers crossing over the tracks.
When you past Main Street while traveling N on Ridge Ave, it is the small opening on the left. It is really called Cresson St but it is given the name "Little Cresson St" because it is a pathlike street that has a small group of houses and one business located there. It seems to be the forgotten area of Manayunk.
It could be a wonderful private little area of Manayunk - there's so much potential. Currently, the areas without housing are being used as dumping grounds for abandoned/broken down vehicles, and there is litter everywhere. Paving to the street would be wonderful, and also having lighting on the bridge, as it is completely pitch dark (a bit unnerving for a female traveling alone after dark).
