City of Oakland Public Works Agency addressed this issue on 12/18/2012, service request # 400350.

Not sure why the city closed this report as the issue remains with zero action taken to date. Filling the recessed area around the manhole would suffice, and would not restrict access to the manhole.

Issue not resolved

And here we are in 2016 with the issue STILL unresolved. There are a couple huge pot holes in the intersection of Los Angeles and 57th as well, unresolved despite some the "pot hole blitz" that was supposed to occur this week. We have to weave side to side on these streets to get around without cracking a wheel. In this neighborhood we have had many complaints for all sorts of code violations "closed" or with "no violation found" by public works when in fact nothing has been done.
