No it really hasn't been fixed yet. Police continue to make a concentrated effort to enforce the existing 35 mile an hour limit. However, people still pass me as if I'm standing still when I drive between 35 and 40. I stay in the right lane and people still maliciously tailgate me. I think a 45 mile an hour limit would be easier to enforce than the current 35 mile an hour limit. It used to be 45 and was lowered to 35 in the wake of a car-pedestrian fatality in front of South Meck High School in 1998. It was right to put in a traffic signal and a school zone, but 35 for the whole stretch is uncalled for. People go 45 anyway, why not make it legal?

Police are doing all they can to enforce the current 35 mile an hour speed limit, but I think it should be changed back to 45. More people would abide by a 45 mile an hour limit.

The speed limit is stilll 35 along Park Road in South Charlotte. Having it at 35 actually makes it more dangerous because only the timid abides by the 35 mile an hour speed limit. People who don't want to risk a speeding ticket make waves rather than go with the flow. When it's feasible, I'll use 485 and I-77 as an alternate route to Park Road.

CMPD are still doing all they can to enforce the current 35 mile an hour speed limit along Park Road. However, drivers who abide by it are passed, tailgated and intimidated, even if they stay in the slow lane. In short, the 35 is too difficult to enforce, and needs to be changed back to 35.

Park Road from Park South Drive to Johnston Road should be changed back to 45. The school zone in front of South Meck should be 35, not 25. Johnston Road should be 40 from Park Road to Carmel Road and 45 from Carmel Road to where it changes to 45 now. Yes, it's residential but it's a major thourafare and not a back street.

Park Road is still 35. CMPD are doing all they can to enforce the current speed limit. Drivers like myself who choose to abide by the speed limit are passed, tailgated and intimidated despite extensive police enforcement. Drivers who wish to ignore the 35 mile an hour limit are part of the "I don't' care" epidimic. More people would abide by a 45 mile an hour limit. I understand that it was lowered in response to an incident in front of the high school back in 1998, but that was a long time ago. Changing it back to 45, and changing the school zone from 25 to 35 is what it's gonna take to resolve this issue.

Still 35 all the way down to NC 51. I myself abide by the 35 but others pass me if I'm standing still. Sometimes they might give me an angry blair of the horn if they can't get around me right away. I think more people would abide by a 45 mile an hour limit. I see lots of people getting pulled over on Park Road. That means CMPD are doing all they can to enforce the current limit.

CMPD seem to pull one speeder after another. I see people getting pulled over all the time. But I think the real solution to this issue is to change it back to 45. Drivers still pass me as if I'm standing still as I abide by the 35 mile and hour speed limit. The school zone in front of South Meck High should be 35 instead of 25. The City of Charlotte should be urged to change the speed limit as mentioned above.

I'm sure that Charlotte DOT is hesitant to change it back to 45 because a parent(s) of one who got killed in front of South Meck back in 1998 advocated and petitioned for the current 35 mile an hour limit. However, the reality of it is, it's too difficult to enforce to the extent that it needs to be. I myself abide by it because I don't like getting pulled over, but I'm constantly passed, tailgated and intimidated. Every now and then, despite staying in the slow lane, I almost get my bumper clipped by someone who passes me and then jumps in front of me, cutting me off. That's why the 35 actually makes the stretch more dangerous, those outbreaks of "road rage". This stretch is the majority of my commute from my apartment at Waterford Square to my job at the Cypress Of Charlotte. If a day comes in which I actually get my bumper clipped by one of those aggressive drivers who wish to disregard the current speed limit, I'm likely to get cursed out and possibly assaulted. That's the reason I want to see the speed limit changed back to 45. I want to be able to go the speed limit without being bullied by drivers who wish to disregard it.

As long as the speed limit on Park Road stays at 35, which it probably will forever, we're gonna see those outbreaks of "road rage" between one who abides by it and one who doesn't care and wishes to disregard it. The stretch of Park Road is part of my commute to work, it's the only route that isn't way out of the way, and it's not feasible to avoid it. If we have to have speed limits that are considerably lower than what the roadway is actually designed for, the State of North Carolina needs an "A.R.S.D." aggressive driving law. Our current aggressive driving law is way too lenient. A.R.S.D. stands for "Arrest, Revoke, Seize, and Destroy". In other words, when someone is pulled over for aggressive driving, it's my opinion that the person be arrested, have his driver's license revoked, and have is vehicle seized and destroyed. Such a law would send a clear message that "road rage" behavior absolutely will not be tolerated. Speed limits that are posted considerably below what they really ought to be, are bad for the environment. It's because drivers who abide by it are forced to use lower gear. That means that the engine turns more RPM's per mile, and therefore burns more gasoline and pumps more pollutants into the atmosphere to deplete the ozone layer. My twenty o seven Toyota Yaris, which is a 4 speed automatic, doesn't get out of third gear until I get up to at least 40 miles an hour. Those are two reasons why I object to keeping the speed limit at 35 on Park Road.

As I've said before, I know that no matter how many comments I write, City Of Charlotte D.O.T. is never gonna change the speed limit on Park Road back to 45. However, we are going to continue to see those outbreaks of "Road Rage" between people who wish to abide by it and those who wish to disregard it. I myself abide by it, and despite staying in the slow lane, I get maliciously tailgated, sometimes honked at, and sometimes nearly have my bumper clipped by someone who speeds around me and then jumps in front of me. Changing it back to 45 is the only thing that will fix this issue once and for all, unless maybe North Carolina passes an A.R.S.D. aggressive driving law. A.R.S.D. stands for "Arrest, Revoke, Seize and Destroy."
