As usual, these issues have not been acknowledged by ANY city department. I guess it takes someone to get shot or God forbid, killed in order for any response to appear.
Instead of consistently being reactive, it's way past the time to have become PROACTIVE

For the first time ever, New Haven Housing Authority finally has decided to follow HUD guidelines and revoke the Section 8 voucher of tenant at 299 Greenwich Ave (in City Point neighborhood) due to persistent gun & drug arrests at this address. (Unfortunately, this is NOT a guarantee that they’ll be moving: if they continue to pay rent with their OWN money the landlord can continue to keep them there—in which case, our next step is to go after the landlord.)
SO HOW WAS THIS ACCOMPLISHED? Because NEIGHBORS were willing to keep the police updated about the illegal activity taking place at 299 Greenwich so that a HISTORY of police reports and arrests could be accumulated. IF THERE’S NO OFFICIAL RECORD OF COMPLAINTS, ETC. THEN POLICE & HOUSING CAN DO NOTHING.
If this can work on Greenwich Ave., it can work on this street.
Police narcotics anonymous tip line: 203-946-6098 or crime incident investigations and Wanted Persons anonymous tip line: 1-866-888-TIPS(8477) You never have to give your name. If you don’t want the police to be able to see your number on caller ID, first press *67 then dial the tip line number.
Our success on Greenwich Ave. can't happen on YOUR street without YOU.
