Would you rather that Stephanie wait until the dog does bother someone (as in perhaps bite)? There are leash laws for a reason. And those laws don't say that a dog has to "bother" someone before the law takes effect.
And those leash laws provide that a dog who is under voice control not be required to be leashed. Sounds to me like a bunch of people who want things their way only and will hold their breath and stomp their feet until they get their way. You all have to grow up and realize you can't get your way just because "I can't stand dog owners who think that its (sic) okay to walk dogs without a leash." If her complaint was chasing people, messing lawns and not cleanin g it up, then she would have a valid complaint. Maybe you should be leashed.
Don't reduce yourself to personal insults; there's no need for that, if someone disagrees with your point of view, they have that right. Voice control is a joke; if a dog sees something like a rabbit it can be off in a shot & the owner loses "control". Besides, how would the owner prove he had it under voice control?
I stand by my comment. Unleashed dogs is unpredictable. Voice control is bulls***. I hope an unleashed dog attack you. Then I would read that the owner gets a slap on the wrist. You will get to look at your scars everyday wishing there was better enforced laws on dogs.
I happen to own 2 American Bulldogs, part of the group called Pit Bulls. Though I don't walk them in public without leashes, they are completely controlled by voice commands. I have also had Doberman Pinschers and Shepherds in the past who have been trained the same way. My point is, this complaint doesn't indicate anything being done wrong. Only the complainer doesn't like it. Yet I get berated for pointing that out while "Wiz" can wish an unprovoked dog attack on me. Childish behavior. Hold your breath, Wiz, and maybe your Democratic dreams will come true!
I've never been "bothered" by a dog on a leash. Maybe frightened and I'll cross street. On other side, in my lifetime, I've been bitten by a dog, my son has been bitten by a dog and one of my dogs (while on a leash) was attacked 3 separate times by 2 different dogs - each time the other dog wasn't on a leash. The owners of the other dogs always swore they were good dogs who never normally do something like this. Dogs are unpredictable - they should always be on a leash while not inside or in a fenced area.
