Description
Hi. Someone is going to get badly hurt at the intersection of Dale and Patricia Avenue in Willow Grove, Pa!!! I watched two cars almost nail each other this morning. Every morning when I go out to walk my dog I hear horns beeping and people screaming at each other! No one stops at the stop sign and uses our neighborhood as a cut through to Twining road ! I know police have been out before but a strong police presence has to be established again! Thank you .

Our thanks to all of you for your valuable input. You should expect to see increased enforcement at both ends of the development in the coming days. In regards to a 4-way stop sign, there are a number of requirements set forth by the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) that we use to legally justify the need for signage and signals. Unfortunately, this intersection does not meet those requirements. We are optimistic that continued enforcement will help us achieve those goals.
My last comment, although off topic, is where we ask for your help. One of the biggest issues we hear about in Upper Dublin is speed. We are very limited in locations where we can enforce because Pennsylvania remains the only state where local police cannot use radar. The deterrent effect that radar would bring would help us do more to control speeding and increase safety in the township. There are currently 2 pieces of legislation which would allow PA police to use radar. Senate Bill 607 did pass the Senate and is awaiting action by the House Transportation Committee. This bill was referred to the committee on 6/26/19. House Bill 1686 (the companion bill) was referred to the House Transportation Committee on 6/27/19.
We are asking you to reach out to your local and state officials to request their support in getting this bill out of committee and to the floor for a vote.
Thank you,
D/C Dan Wade
