Description
The asphalt sidewalk on the SE side of Santa Cruz between Lemon and Elder (and to a lesser extent, from Elder to Olive) is in terrible shape: pot holes, raised ridges from roots, etc. My daughter walks on this sidewalk going to Hillview School. Yesterday, she tripped on a ridge in the asphalt and fell, bruising her hip.
This is not just a "safe routes to school" issue, so please don't just reassign to them. This is a general pedestrian safety issue, since the sidewalk is a hazard and there is no option to walk safely in the road along this section (narrow driving lane and narrow bike path).
The new sidewalks from Olive to downtown are GREAT - but why did they stop at Olive? Can those be extended to Lemon so this dangerous patch of sidewalk can get fixed? Or at least replace the asphalt.
Thank you.
