Cars race down Woodlyn Ave all year doing at least 35 mph all year round. The same thing applies to Dale Rd. I would estimate at least 90% of motorists do not stop at the stop sign at Woodlyn & Patricia.

Another issue is that motorists on Patricia that are turning onto Woodlyn cut the corner, that is that as they turn the corner, they turn into the left lane of Woodlyn Ave. Unfortunately if you think that the Upper Dublin police will do anything about any of these issues you are dreaming!

In the past I have put in reports about speeding and tailgating on Twining Road, all have fallen on death ears. Recently there have been complaints about these issues on Ayr Rd. Looks like it is just not a concern of the police. In effect they chose to let "The inmates run the Asylum!"

In my previous post I mentioned death ears, I realized it should have deaf ears. But on second though, death is what it takes to get their attention, its called a Tombstone Mentality.

I’m concerned about the speeders and cut through traffic during morning school hours. Every day I leave home at 8:25am and travel down North Hills Rd where I am heavily tailgated until I reach Woodlyn Ave where the drivers speed off through our development to cut through to Twining Rd. I’m afraid one of our children will be hurt or killed!! Please help!!

My experience has been different. I may not always like the outcome, but they always take the time to explain what they found and why they made the choice they made. We need to keep reporting it and they will continue to monitor until they find enough of an issue to put up more stop signs, better speed limit & caution signs and maybe even speed humps along Twining. We can dream right?

We also need to engage our Commissioner and the Board of Commissioners to make sure they are aware of our concerns and hopefully looking into the best ways to manage traffic through our neighborhoods. Especially as we see added traffic from development and new Turnpike Interchanges.

The speeding on Dale Road from Twining and from Jill (coming off of North Hills) is out of control. The stop signs are not used at all, many people assume the other direction stops which they don’t. It is also a school bus stop. Several cars speed up to turn around the bus before it stops.
Please have this area monitored more closely for the safety of our children.

Christy, thank you for corroborating What Paul and myself have stated. If you know anyone else in Willow Manor that is concerned with these issues, please ask them to make comment also. I spoke to another resident of Willow Manor who lives on Woodlyn close to Jill, he agrees some thing needs to be done. But, He told me he had contacted Upper Dublin numerous times about these issues, after never getting anything done he said he just gave up.

As long is that is all that Upper Dublin has to do, just wear people down, that is what they do!

Attention Upper Dublin: The comments are stacking up! The residents of Willow Manor have nothing but contempt for your total lack of action on the various issues presented here. Please do your job and address these issues. A starting point certainly be an increased police presence especially during the morning rush hour. As stated during 7:00 AM and 9:00 there is an almost continuous stream of cars speeding down Dale Rd and Woodlyn Ave, The vast majority also blow right thru the stop signs.

We will work toward addressing the reported issues.

@Cpl Matt Garay, is it possible to note within this ticket the progress of solutions done to reduce speeding and cut-thru traffic and their effectiveness? There are several other areas within the township that suffer from similar issues and could result favorably if those solutions are carried out in those areas as well. Thank you.

Police patrols have increased traffic enforcement in this area to help reduce speeders and those who disregard traffic control devices such as stop signs. Many citations have been issued for violations.

Thank you Chief Benson. We all have definitely noticed and greatly appreciate the increase in patrols and the resulting improved driving habits of those passing through Willow Manor. We also all hope that some of the data collected by the patrols can be used by the BOC and UDPD to justify some improved signage and other more permanent resolutions to manage traffic through our neighborhood.
