Description
This is an environmental tragedy with potential loss of habitat to wild animals and migrating birds. Yes, I do care about people and wish I had an answer to the overwhelming homeless issue, which is also a tragedy. But, to let this pristine waterway to become a trash dump is just not ok! This is avoidable, needs to stop and the area restored for the wildlife. I would be happy to come help clean it up once the people are moved to a location that has toilets and trash cans.

The south side of the highway White Slough planning area as being part of the Napa Marsh and River, one of two more significant marsh areas in the county. The following are the land use objectives and policies adopted for this area:
Obiective: Preserve and enhance the quality and diversity of marsh aquatic and wildlife habitats.
Obiective: Preserve and enhance the water resources available to Solano County, and protect significant waterways and their habitats.
Policy: The County shall preserve and enhance wherever possible the diversity of wildlife and aquatic habitats found in the Napa Marsh...and surrounding upland areas to maintain these unique wildlife resources.
Policy: The County shall protect its marsh waterways, managed and natural wetlands, tidal marshes, seasonal marshes and lowland grasslands which are critical habitats for marsh-related wildlife.
Policy: In marsh areas, the County shall encourage the formation and retention of parcels of sufficient size to preserve valuable tidal marshes, seasonal marshes, managed wetlands and contiguous grassland areas for the protection of aquatic and wildlife habitat.”
