There is one spot on this corner, closest to the intersection, which gives every appearance of being a legitimate parking space. At one time, it WAS a legitimate parking space. It is marked off with white paint as the other spaces in front of it, and appears to be the only space without a corresponding number. When I parked there in the evening last month, I took note that there were not any "no parking" bags over the meters. However, when I returned to my car, I received a citation which stated that I had parked in a non-numbered space. Upon further scrutiny, I did in fact see a small sign several spots up which stated that cars can only be parked in numbered spaces. I submitted an appeal the next day with photographs, explaining how easily this oversight occurred, but this appeal was denied this past week. I believe that the city has selected this spot as a parking ticket moneymaker.
