We continue to live next to two active chop shops, one based out of 600 E 8th st, one based out of the RV encampment near E 9th and 5th. The sidewalk has been completely blocked for days.

More than half the block on both sides of the street are now a homeless encampment. Part of the sidewalk is now blocked. I watched someone shoot up on the sidewalk as I left for work. I have elderly and young people to care for in my home.

The new camper on our street along with the many others, some blocking the sidewalk and others giving unpleasant looks at me when I leave my front door to get the mail make it impossible for me, as an older person to walk in my own neighborhood or even down the street where I live. It is becoming intolerable.

Sidewalk is almost impassable because of the huge piles of trash along 5th Ave. In the photos you can see a parent walking their child home toward the Embarcadero neighborhood, weaving between piles of trash, live wires (stealing city power), and feces. 5th Ave is Eastlake's connection to the waterfront, but to reach it you need to pass through this. Most people seem to choose to just walk in traffic rather than navigate the sidewalk, and I don't blame them. We've been reporting the situation here for years -- how can our neighborhood get support? But yes, come pick up the trash again.

This has been here for YEARS. I call every week. Nobody does anything. This is a disgrace.
