The trees on the side of New York Ave need attention. There are tons of cut or broken branches that should be cleared out. There are also many dead trees that could fall and cause significant damage further up on the hill. It would be great for someone to come and inspect and make a plan for removal and clearing of the area. The retention wall appears to have some structural issues as well. Clearing the trees will make that easier to investigate

The tunnel on New York Ave, leading up to Jersey city heights, is not safe for pedestrians. The sidewalk is only on one side and narrow. It’s very difficult to have more than one person walking to feel safe. There are also constantly food delivery bikers on the sidewalk vs riding in the road in the tunnel. I assume they do this because they also don’t feel safe riding on the road in the tunnel given it’s conditions. While there are lights in the tunnel there are still dark areas making it more challenging for drivers to see. Because the tunnel is down a hill, cars go very fast through the tunnel disregarding the speed limit and the warnings that there is a bank turn up ahead. As more development occurs near this tunnel this foot traffic is going to increase along with the odds of a terrible accident. The road is currently closed from 9am to 5pm for other construction so now would be a perfect time to also put in a speed hump to slow down the traffic and keep everyone safe.
