I live across from the school on 13th St W. I knew about the parking issue when I bought, but that being said it would be nice if more parking space was created behind the soccer/football field where there is a place for it. People should also be encouraged to use the staff parking lot on evenings/weekends to limit the cars on the street.

13th St W is esspecially bad in winter. The street is terribly rutted and is lined with cars who are parked halfway onto the road because of all the snow piles. The city has removed the snow on the adjacent avenues, but hasn't touched the street. City: Get a plow down here and clean up the street so its safe for people to park and drive.

they shouldn't be parking at Sacred heart either. the students even park in the handi capped spaces at the church

How about just cleaning the streets around the school. The ruts are so deep and icey!

I remember when I went to St. Mary in the 80's they had way less parking then they have now. There was always parking available because students didn't drive to school! Why do students now feel the need to drive to school every day? Parking should be for the staff and any extra parking should require a parking permit that is very highly priced, Then maybe the students will think twice about whether they really need to drive to school.

It is terrible. I graduated from there in 08. We had to park in the "dirt" parking lot, in the cathedral, or on the side roads on either side of the school or even down other random resedential streets. You can't punish the students, they are making an effort to get to school. Its also really bad when the church has an event/funeral going on because then you can't park there and it makes it even worse trying to find a place to park. They need to re-build a new catholic highschool somewheres else.

I graduated from St. Marys in 2009. I agree that the parking situation is terrible. But to be completely honest, I do not believe that it is the students fault. Kids need to get to school, and they do that by driving. The school needs to buy more land so that the students can have somewhere to park that isnt interfering with anyone else.

there is NO land there for the school to buy!! for the students, whats wrong with taking the bus? getting dropped off? i can't believe the amount of teens that have their own cars out here and drive like crazy! theres no need

Not only do they need to make more parking available but as a resident on this street I must stress that there needs to also be more traffic signs. Stop signs on the corner of 13th and 4th ave and again on 13th and bishop pascal. Reason being that on more than one occassion there have been accidents due to parked traffic and speeding.

they need to take out that damn meridian out of the middle of the road, have no parking signs and now with rivier academy going co-ed there is going to be even more parking/road issues.

Why do school buses load and unload students right on 15th st w? With vehicles parked on both sides of the street? This is a main street to the west side of town and the peniteniary workers?

instead of just building a big parking lot for the teachers, they should have built that space into a parkade so there would have been multi level parking

I agree with Transplant and eh: why does every high school kid have todrive to school? Out of my circle of friends back at CCHS a zillion years ago, one of my buddies owned a car. The rest of us walked or took the bus. Kids are spolied today. ;)
