Description

Traffic hazard is created because people park along the curbs right up to the intersection at Goodwill and Tricks Gymnastics along Plaza and Parkshore making it difficult to see traffic when turning from Parkshore onto Plaza.Traffic on Parkshore and Plaza has increased substantially with the Parkshore and Farmhouse home development and people cutting through on Parkshore from Blue Ravine - Folsom Blvd. No parking signs or a no parking red curb are needed at / near the intersection to improve safety.

I agree. While I thank the City for responding to a previous request and installing "Do Not Park" signs, it is apparent everyday that the initial effort has been futile. We need red painted curbs, Stop signs, road markings and any other visual cue to help deal with this intersection.

Agree. Nothing has changed. People still park there knowing there is no enforcement. There is also a large bush on the corner that prevents clear visibility to the left.

I totally agree. Another report was made in early April (shows to north on map). It would be nice if the city would actually respond.

Agree, though it's been a problem for a long time just worse with more traffic on Parkshore. Making it No Parking for a car length or 2 back from the corner would help if there were any parking enforcement...

I drove past this spot several times a day Friday - Sunday and people ignore the "No Parking" signs. I noticed that there was plenty of parking available in the parking lots for Goodwill, the gymnastics/dance studio and at the Transformation Gym lot.

PLEASE do something about this intersection. This was the view both ways today as I was pulled up to the line trying to see if anyone was coming. If the city is going to put signs up and not follow up it was a waste of time. This has been going on for far too long.

The Public Works Department will assess the intersection to determine if all-way stop sign control is warranted and will then submit our findings to the City's Traffic Safety Committee at the next available opportunity. I will leave this item open until that process is completed.

Ideally, this would be another traffic circle given the volumes now that the new housing developments (and cut-through traffic from Folsom Blvd) are there.

There was an accident at this intersection not two weeks ago. A sedan and collided with a truck. At certain times of the day, due to the position of the sun, vehicles that are painted white or are in light colors, are almost invisible sometimes. I agree with Mike B above. The heavy traffic warrants another traffic circle.

I was in that area today, and there were cars parked directly in front of the No Stopping signs, right up to the corner. I'm a little mystified as to why the city would go to the trouble of putting up the signs, but then not enforce them.

Can the businesses over there (Tricks Gymnastics and Goodwill) remind their customers about parking restrictions on the street? I think the businesses should also be involved a little in this duty since the city cannot be enforcing on a continuous basis.

Why hasn’t this bush been changed yet?? In my truck it isn’t an issue but when I’m in a car it is extremely hard to feel safe in that intersection.

Not sure why action hasn’t been taken here? Double yellow lines also need painted down the center, as well as cross walls installed. There are 2 residential communities within a half mile, and no safe way to cross street to grocery store.
