Description

The large area northwest of the intersection of Hwy 12 and Hwy 29 is again home to a homeless encampment. This is a chronic problem area and a big safety issue for the legal residents of the adjacent community. At least two fires have been started in this encampment that threatened the community. Underbrush continues to grow allowing these illegal campers to find cover to keep from being noticed. There is also concern that people from this encampment have participated in home invasions lately in the near community. Whoever has oversight needs to take a more aggressive approach to keeping this area clear of illegal campers.
