  • 175 Hamilton Ave Princeton NJ 08540, United States - Princeton
Continued water flowing from under street? At Linden and Hamilton - no resolution and ongoing for a couple of months now.
  • Linden Ln & Hamilton Ave Princeton, New Jersey, 08540 - Princeton
There is a metal plate over the road with a sharp edge and a drum to warn drivers of drive around the area. But the drum is badly positioned and the area is a short distance from the corner and creates a dangerous situation. The plate has been there for more than 6 weeks and the area should be fixed.
  • State Rd & Terhune Rd Princeton, NJ, 08540, USA - Princeton North
Before construction common sense tells you there should have been a no left turn sign here. There are cars driving over construction and almost crossing thinking they can make the turn. IF left turns are allowed . The intersection is just even more dangerous now
  • Paul Robeson Pl Princeton 08540, United States - Princeton

Very unsafe encounter this morning using the pedestrian crosswalk at the Paul Robeson, Bayard, and Hodge intersection. I had the right of way and was crossing Paul Robeson north to south.

A person driving an SUV failed to yield while making a left hand turn, from Bayard onto Robeson (coming from the north). Due to the speed of the oncoming traffic from the south, we accelerated at high speed (while in conversation with a passenger in the vehicle). Upon seeing me in the crosswalk, she slammed on the brakes. Seeing the oncoming traffic she grew panicked. Luckily there was enough space for her to pass in front of me.

This is Princeton’s most dangerous intersection for a reason (measured by vehicle crashes). The municipality cannot wait until the full Hamilton-Wiggins-Robeson project to fix this intersection. It is dangerous now and requires immediate attention. There may he lost cost measures that can quickly installed to slow turning vehicle speeds, including sidewalk extensions for the pedestrian refuge and a basic hardened center-line turning treatment. Furthermore, this intersection should have 10 to 15 second dedicated pedestrian signal. Pedestrian fatalities were up 8% in NJ from 2018 to 2017, and are up 35% nationwide since 2009.

525 Snowden Lane Princeton, New Jersey - Princeton
Snowden Lane between Harry's Brook and Smoyer Park, long a dangerous road to drive is now a disaster waiting to happen. Try driving it at night, in the rain, high beams coming up at you, potholes everywhere, no reflective road striping and a deep drop off at the margin. Compare this road to our low-trafficked but wide residential streets with their well-defined Belgian block edges.
Compare this ancient road's maintenance to that of the well marked Herrontown Road which as late as the 1980's was in-part a dirt path passable only by 4 wheel drive vehicles. Why is this dire situation been allowed to continue and indeed to worsen ?
  • 357-499 Ridgeview Rd Princeton, NJ, 08540, USA - Princeton
The section of Ridgeview Road that is close to the Great Road has not been repaved for at least 20 years. Other sections have. The dark pavement in the photo is from a contractor who the township hired 10-15 years ago to regrade the other end of Ridgeview. He literally drove to our end and dumped his excess pavement here. My complaints received no action. More broken pavement has been filled over time. The street is in terrible condition. Please, please, please put us on the list for repaving.
  • Us-206 Princeton, New Jersey, 08540 - Princeton North
The new traffic light 206 Cherry Valley Road is horrible as those turning left need an arrow. Drivers block the street when they are backed up so those turning left can't turn. If a left turning arrow is added for the extra lane built, perhaps traffic would not be so tied up.
  • 233-275 Franklin Ave Princeton, NJ, 08540, USA - Princeton North
I've been taking Franklin Avenue when driving and it has been bumpy for while. Please fix.
  • 237 Elm Rd Princeton, NJ, 08540, USA - Princeton
The Belle Meade Trap Rock Quarry is running six-wheeler, heavy dump trucks up Elm Road (and Great Road) at all hours of the day and night. This morning, it started before 4:00 a.m., but a few days ago, it was at 2:30 a.m..
The trucks are harmful in several ways.
First, it is impossible to sleep through a passing truck, even in the early morning, because of the vibration and the noise of the exhaust pipes which are not muffled sufficiently.
Then, the acrid smell of the diesel exhaust lingers and doesn't dissipate.
The question of the damage they do to the municipal roadway should be considered, as well.
They have the option of using Carter Road, which is a County Highway, and undeveloped, for the most part, but they choose to "roar into Princeton."
The company that runs this show (the Belle Meade Quarry) has been bought out of Kingston by South Brunswick, and paid not to get started in Bay of Fundy, Canada, by the Canadian Government. I suspect that they have lawyers on the line who are telling them to be just as loud and obnoxious as they want, since they are thereby increasing their chances of another buyout at their Belle Meade location. They have several quarries in the Mid-Atlantic region, and Belle Meade is probably the closest to heavy residential development while affecting nearby Princeton, as well. It's a natural for a buyout.
I would like to pursue the possibility of banning trucks of the kind used by the Belle Meade Quarry from Princeton's residential neighborhoods, including Elm Road. The trucks could reach Carter Road and Route 206 by either turning west on Cherry Valley Road and traveling a mile to where it intersects with Carter Road, or by going into Hopewell (not recommended), and turning onto Carter Road where it starts, there. Again, Carter Road is a County highway.
  • 87 Robert Rd Princeton, NJ, 08540, USA - Princeton
We live at 87 Robert Road, and there's an easement along the side of our property along Prospect. We recently noticed an increased number of depressions in the ground. Beneath the easement is an underground stream that runs parallel to Prospect. We are concerned about the structural integrity of the side yard because of the underground Stream.

  • Ivy Ln & Washington Rd Princeton, NJ, 08544, USA - Princeton
A "No turn on red" sign is necessary at the traffic light on Ivy Lane due to a large cement block on the left side of the road that obscures all view of oncoming traffic on Washington road. I got into an accident a few years ago trying to make a right on red and realized that, while my fault, a "no turn on red" sign would completely prevent that mistake from occurring in the future.
